Muzio Clementi: Gradus ad Parnassum, Vol. 4 - Delightful
Marangoni plays with alacrity and a light touch, making these difficult exercises sound effortless. And more importantly, he makes them sound musical.
Rzewski - The People United Will Never Be Defeated!
"United" is all about the journey. And it's one that's well worth the time invested.
Brundibar - Music by Theresienstadt Composers
The Nash Ensemble plays with precision and energy. All four works are compositions of substance that deserve to be heard on their own merits.
Billband - Towards Daybreak
Listening from start to finish provides a complete aesthetic experience and one that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Wolfgang Rihm: Complete Works for Violin & Piano
If you're up for some active listening of thought-provoking music, then this may be the disc for you.
C.E.F. Weyse - A Danish Treasure Rediscovered
I was pleasantly surprised by what I heard -- I hope you will be, too.
Marcel Tyberg - A Voice Not Silenced
In a video promoting this release, JoAnn Falletta stated she’s fallen in love with Tyberg’s music. And her performance shows it. Highly recommended.
Krzysztof Penderecki: Works For String Orchestra
The purpose of this recording is to showcase the Radom Chamber Orchestra. It’s a good start.
Adolphus Hailstork - An American Port of Call
American composer Adolphus Hailstork has been quietly building up an impressive catalog of well-crafted works. This new collection brings some of them to light.
