Nightingale Quartet starts Vagn Holmboe series
The Nightingale Quartet is off to a great start. They just finished their survey of Rued Langgard string quartets. Holmboe (stylistically) is the next logical step. I'm glad they took it.
Leo Weiner Divertimentos more than diverting

Neumeyer Consort entertains with Boismortier
These are fine performances. Boismortier knew how to write a melody, and the consort seems to relish every one of them. Their playing has the refined elegance Parisien audiences of the day would have expected.
