Violina Petrychenko Champions Ukrainian Masters
This album presents two world premiere recordings. And what wonderful additions to the repertoire they are.
Myriam Barbaux-Cohen Delivers with Mel Bonis
If you love Debussy and Ravel, add this release to your collection. Bonis had her own ideas of Impressionism and her creations have a lush, fluid sound to them.
Rheinberger's Der Stern von Bethlehem shines in reissue
I applaud Ars Produktion's decision to release this remastered classic. And especially to do on a high-resolution multi-channel disc. The rich harmonies can wash over the listener in surround sound.
Alban Beikircher excites with Wolf-Ferrari Violin Concerto
Violinist Alban Beikircher gives a fine performance in Wolf-Ferrari's Violin Concerto. Melody is foremost, and Beikircher plays with sensitivity and empathy.
El Canto del Cisne Negro - Latin-American music that merits attention
Though these are all Latin American composers, Comas and Campos let the distinctive voice of each one come through. An exceptional release of music that merits more attention.
We are grateful for the generosity of the Joseph and Robert Cornell Memorial Foundation and UVA Arts Council, supporting WTJU and CharlottesvilleClassical.org.
